Rev. John Ransom Jr. serves as the pastor of Orient United Methodist Church, bringing more than 40 years of dedicated ministry experience within the United Methodist Church. Throughout his journey, he has served in numerous roles, leading impactful projects and guiding churches through seasons of growth and renewal.

An alumnus of Wilberforce University, Rev. Ransom is a Licensed Local Pastor and is currently continuing his theological training at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio through the Course of Study program. His ministry is fueled by a deep passion for preaching, teaching, and walking alongside others as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Rev. Ransom is a devoted husband to Tonya Ransom and the proud father of two adult daughters, Jonnel and Jonneice. Outside of ministry, he enjoys bowling, family vacations, and cherishing time with loved ones. He lives by the joy and energy of his favorite Scripture, Psalm 100:1 — “Make a joyful noise to the Lord.”
